Clean Basket & Portafilter-Video

Recommended Cleaning Cycle-1 Week

• 4 Cups Hot Water--equivelant 1 Liter
• 3 Scoops Cafiza from a Urnex Scoopz Espresso Machine Brush 3 scoops equivalant to 1 Tbls or 6 Grams
• Mix in Cafiza to the water and stir till disolved. Remove backet from Portafilter and add Portafileter (metal parts only) and basket to mixture and let soak for 30 minutes.
• After 30 mintes remove portafilter and basket and rinse under hot water to remove excess solution. Save solution and set aside for step 2; cleaning group head
• Once done rinsing put basket back in portafilter and insert into the Gaggia Classic Pro and run the machine in brew mode empty of coffee and run machine for a normal brew cycle (30-40 seconds)

Clean Group Head-Video

Recommended Cleaning Cycle-2-4 Weeks

• Remove screw on underside of shower screen
• Put shower screen into Cafiza you used earlier
• Let soak for 30 minutes
• While screen is soaking take a brush and dip it in the Cafiza water solution and then clean up under the group head and around the silicone where the portafilter locks into group head.
• Next scrub the shower plate where the screen sits
• Next rinse of shower screen that was soaking in the Cafiza and place back in group head and insert screw
• Next run the machine in a brew cycle for 40 seconds to flush all Cafiza residue out of the group head.

Back Flushing-Video

Recommended Cleaning Cycle-2-4 Weeks

• Make sure Blow Down Tube is attached securely
• Remove basket from portafilter and insert Back Flush Disk
• In the Back Flush Disk add 1 scoop with a Urnex Scoopz Espresso Machine Brush of Cafiza
• Insert portafilter back into machine
• Turn on Brew button and let machine build pressure for 3-5 seconds and then turn off brew button
• Do that process 5 times each time hitting the brew button for 3-5 seconds and letting pressure build up
• Each time the brew button is turned off the Blown Down Tube shoots out the Cafiza cleaning solution
• Remove portafilter and rinse it out under warm water
• Insert portafilter back into machine
• Run the same 5 sequences again but with out Cafiza in the back flush disk this time
• This will flush the machine of the Cafiza cleaning solution

Descaling Boiler-Video

Recommended Cleaning Cycle-1 Month

• Make sure to do this on a cold machine
• Remove blow down tube and water tank
• Add 1/2 a bottle of Gaggia Decalcifier Liquid Descaler to a full tank of water
• Insert water tank back into machine
• Put a large container under the steam wand (at least 2 cups size)
• Turn machine on
• Run 2 Cups of water through the machine by hitting both the Brew button and the Steam Wand button and turn the Steam Knob wide open till 2 cups comes into container
• Turn machine off
• Let machine sit for 20 minutes

Repeat this process again, but let sit 3 minutes:

• Turn machine on
• Run 2 Cups of water through the machine by hitting both the Brew button and the Steam Wand button and turn the Steam Knob wide open till 2 cups comes into container
• Turn machine off
• Let machine sit for 3 minutes

Repeat this process again

• Turn machine on
• Run 2 Cups of water through the machine by hitting both the Brew button and the Steam Wand button and turn the Steam Knob wide open till 2 cups comes into container
• Turn machine off
• Let machine sit for 3 minutes

Repeat this process again, till all water is gone from holding tank:

• Remove empty water tank from machine and rinse under warm water to remove cleaning residue
• Now fill tank with cold clean water
• Turn machine on
• Run all the clean water through the machine by hitting both the Brew button and the Steam Wand button and turn the Steam Knob wide open

Repeat this process so 4 full tanks of water go through the machine

• After this the Descaling cleaning process has been completed
