- 1 Cup sifted flour
- 3/4 Cup white sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 Tbsp cocoa or 3
- 1/2 Cup milk
- 1 tsp pure vanillia
- 2 tbsp shortening melted or butter
- 1/2 Cup chopped walnuts or pecans
- 3/4 brown sugar
- Sift together 1 Cup sifted flour
- 3/4 C white sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 Tbsp cocoa or 3
Stir in
- 1/2 Cup milk
- 1 tsp pure vanilla
- 2 tbsp shortening melted or butter
- 1/2 Cup chopped walnuts or pecans
- Turn into greased 8"-9" square pan.
- Pour hot topping over--do NOT stir Topping
- Mix together 3/4 brown sugar packed, 2 tbsp cocoa or 4 tbsp.
- Then sprinkle over butter.
- Pour over: 1 1/2 -1 3/4 Cup boiling water
- Bake at 350 for 40-45 min till topping is firm. Sauce on bottom is like a pudding...so spoon sauce over cake.
