- 4-6 large green peppers
- 1 lbs ground beef or turkey
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 14oz canned tomatoes cut up
- 2/3 cup long grain rice
- 3 T Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Remove the tops of the peppers, removing stem ends, seeds, etc
- Immerse peppers into boiling water for 15 minutes
- Sprinkle inside with salt
- Invert peppers on paper towel when finished
- In a skillet cook meat and onion
- Drain fat
- Stir in undrained tomatoes, and COOKED rice, Worcestershire sauce, basil
- Bring to a boil
- Cover and simmer for 5 minutes
- Stir in 2 cups of cheddar cheese
- Fill peppers with meat mixture
- Place in a 8x8x2 long glass dish
- Bake on 375 for 5 minutes
